Scott, with his wife Susan and their sons Malcolm and Issac, are residents of Kelligrews in Conception Bay South. Scott is a Memorial University graduate and has studied in the areas of Political Science, Business, Public Administration and Newfoundland Studies.
Scott has worked within various Government departments for the last 20 years. Between his educational training and practical experience, he has gained great knowledge spanning a variety of areas well suited for working in communities and neighborhoods on the Avalon.
An advocate for community involvement, Scott has spent time coaching and volunteering with such groups as the Eastern Trail Riders Snowmobile Association, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards program and Topsail United Church. As well, Scott and his wife Susan have been coaches, volunteers and advocates for Special Olympics both locally and provincially.
Scott is a great communicator and understands how to work with people to get the job done. He served as Councillor at Large on the Conception Bay South Town Council and was elected as Member of Parliament for Avalon in 2008 and re-elected in 2011.
As Member of Parliament, Scott has had the privilege to serve and participate on several federal committees including: Fisheries and Oceans, Veterans Affairs Committees, Natural Resources, Access to Information, and Privacy & Ethics.
