I was born in St. John's and have lived here all of my life. I have two daughters, Jennifer and Nicole.
I am very proud to be a licensed Realtor with RE/MAX, the largest Real Estate Company in the world. I love what I do. Buying or selling a home is one of the most important decisions that a person will make in their lifetime. I really enjoy helping people in the process of selling their home. There are so many details involved in a sale transaction pricing the home, finalizing conditions, marketing, viewings, negotiating, etc. and I do whatever I can to make the sale as smooth as possible, from beginning to end. I really enjoy working with people who are looking to buy a home. It is such an honor to be a part of this process. It can be very personal and sometimes a very sensitive time. I meet people where they are and do as much as I can to educate buyers so that they feel fully informed so that they will feel absolutely comfortable in the home that they choose and help them with all the details of the purchase. I really enjoy helping people is what it comes down to and I am good at what I do (so I am told). When my oldest daughter was a pre-teen she said to me one day “you should sell your organizational skills”. You need to be organized in this business and competent. There is a lot more to selling or buying a home than just accepting or writing an offer.
My previous background was in the investment industry. I worked with CIBC Wood Gundy for 20 years. I have attained The Canadian Securites Course, Professional Financial Planning Course, Life (including accident and sickness) Insurance Levels I and II and numerous other courses on RRSP, Estate Planning, Tax Planning, etc. My background allowed me to ease into a real estate position and do very well upon entering the real estate industry.
I endeavor to educate myself daily by keeping abreast of the news relating to the real estate industry, mortgages rates and changes, attending seminars, board meetings, etc. I have done all of the required courses upon entering the business, numerous courses offered by the real estate board such as Commercial Law, Ethics, Risk Management, and more, Richard Robbins' “Master's Edge” Program and have achieved a designation by doing the Senior's Real Estate Specialist Course and the Accredited Buyer Representative Course. I am currently a member of the 100% Club which only 25% of Re/Max agents attain worldwide. I have done various personal growth courses such as the Dale Carnegie Course and Transformational Training, going back to both as graduate assistants and many, many more personal growth courses over my lifetime. I endeavor to be the best that I can be. It's hard work at times but it has to be done if I want to attain my highest level.
I have and donate to local charities for the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation , the Royal Regatta, Crime Stoppers, Royal Legion, and participate in the yearly CIBC Run for the Cure (Breast Cancer) .
As for personal interests, they are my two daughters, reading, conversation, continuing education, family and friends, quiet time and nature, and keeping in contact with my clients.
For me, service goes beyond the sale. Working in real estate is all about building relationships with people. My real estate success comes from my clients. I am so grateful to meet such wonderful people and it warms my heart that people are so generous and kind in their testimony and their referrals of me.
If you are looking for an agents who offers personal, friendly, and professional service, then look no further.
